Peter
Hanneforth to start up global component and outsourcing
company
Peter Hanneforth, formerly an Executive Vice President
for the Sulzer Corporation, has started up a new
venture as of January 2004. With headquarters
on Long Island, NY, SpaCom™, the Spare Part
and Component Company™, is poised to become
a global leader in supplying high quality, low
cost industrial parts and components, as well
as providing reliable manufacturing outsourcing
and supply chain management services leveraging
a global network of manufacturing partners. “In
an era of extreme cost pressure and increasing
globalization it is essential that companies broaden
their horizon to remain competitive. SpaCom will
help especially smaller and mid-sized companies
engaged in various industrial equipment and machinery

Mr.
Hanneforth brings over 15 years of experience
in business and general management, marketing
& sales, product line management and business
development with U.S. and European Fortune 500
industrial corporations. Prior to joining Sulzer’s
surface coatings division as Vice President Global
Marketing in 1999, he held various positions in
marketing & sales, corporate development and
business management at Corning Incorporated working
in industries such as automotive, environmental,
consumer electronics, telecommunication, scientific
software and specialty materials. He holds a graduate
degree in business administration from the European
Business School in Wiesbaden, Germany and attended
the MBA program of the American Graduate School
of Intl. Management (Thunderbird) in Phoenix,
AZ. He is a member of the Executive Committee
and Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of the Thermal
Spray Society, an affiliate society of ASM International
and the Chairman of their Marketing & Membership
Committee.
